Welcome to Curriculum Support and Assessment!

The Curriculum Support and Assessment Unit (CSAU) leads the county transition to the SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortia assessments that will be used in California.

The CSAU assists educators in interpreting and using assessment results, and establishing comprehensive and balanced assessment systems. Our work empowers school districts to implement local assessment and accountability systems, which improve both teacher instruction and student achievement. Additionally, contract services include the evaluation of county-wide programs and projects that serve the Pre-K through grade 12 population.

The CSAU also provides coordination for the California Distinguished Schools program in Los Angeles County.

For information on services provided by the CSAU contact Kathryn Edwards, Ph.D., Consultant III, email to: edwards_kathryn@lacoe.edu
