Personnel Commission

 

The Office of the Personnel Commission administers the Merit System of equal opportunity employment as prescribed by statutes of the California Education Code.

The functions of the office include: job classification and compensation, recruitment and assessment, and adjudication of disciplinary and examination appeals.

These functions are performed under the authority and oversight of a three-member Personnel Commission.

    Mrs. Anita Ford was appointed by the Board of Education effective December 1, 2010 for a three-year term, and re-appointed by the County Superintendent effective December 1, 2013 for a three-year term.

    Mr. Michael J. Henry is a joint appointee effective December 1, 2011, and reappointed for a three-year term effective December 1, 2014.

    Dr. Sharon Dezutti's nomination by SEIU was approved by the County Superintendent, December 15, 2015, her appointment was effective December 15, 2015 for a three-year term.

    Scott B. Pilch, Executive Director, Classified Human Resources


    Scott Pilch began working as the Executive Director, Classified Human Resources for the Los Angeles County Office of Education in October 2015.

    Prior to LACOE, Mr. Pilch served as the Personnel Director for the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District for eight years, as well as seven years in various technical human resources positions for LAUSD.

    He received a Master of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the California State University, San Bernardino.
