Child Welfare and Attendance

The Child Welfare and Attendance in the Division of Student Support Services has been designated by the Los Angeles County Board of Education to process and hear appeals regarding interdistrict attendance transfers and expulsions. All appeals must be filed within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of the school district’s written final decision on a case. Forms mailed and postmarked but not actually received by the CWA office during the normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and within the 30 calendar days will not be accepted.

Final decisions on all matters that cannot be informally resolved through the CWA office can only be rendered by the County Board.
