Mr. Michael Rosenberg, Personnel Commissioner

Mr. Rosenberg's nomination by CSEA was approved by the Board of Education November 3, 2009. Mr. Rosenberg's three-year term commenced December 17, 2009. Mr. Rosenberg served on the Rosemead ESD School Board from 1979 to 1987, as a member and president. Served on the non-profit West San Gabriel Valley Family Counseling Board as Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair. Also, chaired the committee for the executive director search and selection. Served the Temple City USD as Chair of the District Advisory Committee and the Ad Hoc District Alternative Budget Committee. An advocate for the economically disadvantaged and homeless, has served as a volunteer each week for the last few years since retiring from LACOE. Served LACOE in the HR Research Unit for 30 years, utilizing the academic background in both mathematics and psychology. At LACOE, served the Los Angeles County Schools Joint Benefits Trust as both Chair and Co-Chair. Honored by ALACOSA as one of their Classified Managers of the Year. Served as a non-partisan political campaign manager and consultant in a number of city and school district races since 1979. Has a lifetime Adult Education Credential to teach mathematics and psychology. At LAUSD, served the Personnel Research Section and taught a class in Marriage and Family Relations. At County of Los Angeles, in the Department of Social Services, served as a COBOL Computer Programmer and an Eligibility Worker.

Dr. Rod Freudenberg, Director of Classified Personnel

Rod Freudenberg has been the Personnel Director for the Los Angeles County Office of Education since September, 2007. Prior to LACOE, Dr. Freudenberg has served as Assistant Personnel Director-Selection for LAUSD; Corporate Manager of Organizational Effectiveness for Hughes Electronics, and Personnel Research Supervisor for Los Angeles County. He received his Masters in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Colorado and his Ph. D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Colorado State University. Rod also served on the faculties of Colorado State University, Purdue University, and the California School of Professional Psychology.
