Paperless Initiative

The concept of a paperless workplace has been getting a lot of attention lately. As defined, a paperless office is a work environment in which the use of paper, such as reports, memos, bulletins and even business forms, is eliminated or greatly reduced. This is done by converting documents and other papers into digital form. Proponents claim that "going paperless" can save money, boost productivity, save space, make documentation and information sharing easier, keep personal information more secure, and help the environment.

The Los Angeles County Office of Education is exploring all paperless alternatives and opportunities and encourages the Districts and agencies we serve to do likewise. With digital possibilities literally in our hands today, the use of paper is in itself a limiting means of communication, soon to be deemed a bottleneck to fluent commerce.
