CTE Best Practices
Key Elements of High-Quality Career Technical Education Programs

As outlined in the California State Plan for Career Technical Education, the plan “establishes the vision, goals, and essential elements of a world-class career technical education system.” The Career Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study  was developed to facilitate effective CTE program development by educational leaders. Each element within the Career Technical Education Course of Study (pages 9-74) is defined and expanded upon.
In an effort to build capacity with all districts that offer CTE programs, this webpage recognizes districts that are excelling in one or more of the essential elements and allows for sharing of best practices. For each element below, expand the module to reveal district information. LACOE CTE will continue to acknowledge quality CTE programs and encourages district representatives to learn about quality CTE programming through this resource.
