Description:
AB1915/SB1380 enacts the Armenian Genocide Education Act, provides that the instruction in human rights issues may also include particular attention to the study of the inhumanity of the Armenian Genocide. This training led by The Genocide Education Project will provide support to meet the requirements.

The Fundamentals of Genocide and the Armenian Case: Explore modern-era genocide through its prototype, the Armenian Genocide; This full-day workshop will introduce print, video, and web-based approaches to teaching about the persecution and extermination of Armenians by the Turkish leadership of the Ottoman Empire during WWI, and how it became the archetype for subsequent genocides. An investigation into the history, structure, and stages of genocide will be incorporated into the day’s sessions, culminating in a discussion of genocide denial, its forms and long-term impacts. Participants will receive numerous teaching resources including inquiry based lesson plans that comply with the C3 Framework.
