Struggle with incorporating the 8 Mathematical Practices into your everyday teaching and learning? This workshop will explain how to practically incorporate the 8 Mathematical Practices into your daily instruction at both an introductory as well as the content specific level to ensure student understanding. Develope a plan for supporting and reinforcing the MPs daily to promote student engagement, as well as the new demands of the California state framework.
Participants will learn effective ways to:
- Use the California Math Framework to learn in depth what each Mathematical Practice means and what it should be like and sound like in your classroom
- Incorporate numerous opportunities to create problem-solving skills throughout your math instruction using all eight of mathematical practices at both a general and content specific level
- Apply the Mathematical Practices to enhance both verbal and written articulation in the classroom and on math assessments.
