The newly adopted California History-Social Science Framework emphasizes the importance of content mastery, inquiry-driven instruction, literacy skills development, and the development of knowledge, skills and dispositions for all students to responsibly engage in civic life. English Learners of all proficiency levels can meet the goals of the Framework with appropriate classroom support.
This one-day workshop will provide strategies and tools to help English Learners of various proficiency levels meet the goals of the History-Social Science Framework as they develop English Language proficiency in the social studies classroom.
