This is a 2-day Workshop.
The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards were designed to provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn in mathematics and science. This calls to attention the need for students to begin working toward 21st Century skills to become better prepared for STEM related careers and experiences.
This two-day training in partnership with JPL/NASA and the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden is designed to provide participants with the following knowledge, skills, and resources:
- Participate in STEM lesson that exhibit NGSS, CCSS-Language Arts, and CCSS-Math.
- Receive NASA/JPL modules and activities.
- Learn how to create a STEM lesson.
- Use real world phenomenon to guide lessons for CCSS and NGSS
- Collaborate and Discuss with other participants
