SHaPE Programs promote enhanced physical well-being and safe, supportive, and healthy learning environments. We offer technical assistance in the areas:

  • Comprehensive Sexual Health Education

  • Nutrition Education
  • Physical Activity Promotion
  • Physical Education including Adapted Physical Education
  • School Wellness Policies
  • Tobacco Use Prevention (TUPE)
The unit supports districts and schools in Los Angeles County as they address the issues of nutrition, substance use, sexual health, and HIV/AIDS prevention. Our goals are to support students in developing appropriate attitudes and behaviors that will promote life-long health, and to help close the achievement gap by reducing personal, social, and physiological barriers to student success.
