Nutrition Education Obesity Prevention

The Nutrition Eduction Obesity Prevention (NEOP) LACOE Project began December 5, 2013. It followed the Network for a Healthy California program and is also funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, USDA. Funded through the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LACDPH), the NEOP-LACOE Project expanded evidenced-based nutrition and obesity prevention activities to new school districts in 2014. As a result of cost-effective management and equitable funding model, LACOE provides high quality nutrition education and physical activity promotional programs at 17 various school districts reaching over 125,000 students and families through NEOP-sponsored activities.
