Anthony Quan, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Coordinator III comes to LACOE with a strong background in professional development.
In his previous job at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, he led the Teacher Education division. As a faculty advisor at UCLA Center X, he supported instructional improvement in schools and districts in L.A. County. Anthony also supported LACOE as a contract consultant for CIS. He delivered SB 472 training, as well as developed and presented Common Core workshops for elementary math teachers and the math component for the Common Core overviews. Anthony was instrumental in his role as a member of the California Science Framework Committee. He brings to CIS a breadth and depth of content knowledge in STEM subjects and 21st century skills that will support our schools and districts as they transition to the Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards and 21st century learning.
Anthony is passionate about improving Mathematics and Science education for all students. He enjoys reading and is a life-long learner.
