LACOE's Specialized Services unit provides technical support and professional development to school staff who serve students with disabilities.

We promote inclusion and believe that all children and youth with disabilities can be educated in the general education environment alongside nondisabled peers.

All students with and without disabilities can engage in learning and benefit from meaningful instruction, have friends and be full members of their school communities.

Children with disabilities have been one of the hardest hit student populations during our pandemic. With LA County prioritizing the return to classrooms, many of our students with disabilities will be confronting new behavior challenges in the reshaped, learning environment as well as at home. Join us to learn about strategies that can address potential behavior challenges at home as we navigate this new dynamic. Learn to bridge a level of behavior continuity so your child with disabilities can be successful in this uncertain climate at home and at school.
