STUDENT ART CONTEST

The Arts & STEAM

Welcome to the Los Angeles County Office of Education Arts & STEAM page. We provide assistance to districts and schools in delivering systematic, sustainable, high quality, standards-based Arts & STEAM education for all students.

In 2019, California adopted new Arts standards based on the National Core Arts Standards. California Department of Education and LACOE shifted language to “the Arts” to encompass all the arts disciplines of dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts. Formerly, called Visual & Performing Arts or VAPA. Visit the Online Arts & Arts Integration Resources below for more information.

Arts Integration and STEAM are approaches to education that integrate arts with other subject areas of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, English language arts, English language development, social studies, and/or physical education. Visit the Professional Learning & Convenings for Arts Educators section below for LACOE offerings.
