We are excited to offer a free Composing Through Songwriting Workshop 5-Part Series for local music educators. Led by Little Kids Rock in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, this course is designed to address current needs of all music educators.

Participants will learn to teach their students to collaboratively compose and produce songs using an online digital audio workstation (DAW), such as Soundtrap, and incorporating a Project-Based Learning unit with sequential music lessons. This interactive hands-on course will demonstrate how to implement whole and small-group instruction incorporating student choice, peer-to-peer assessments, and active student-centered learning. Participants will learn how to incorporate into their music classes blended and virtual instruction to nurture their students’ creativity, provide Social Emotional Learning and incorporate Music as a Second Language pedagogy.

With your registration and participation, you will be receiving an iRig Voice microphone courtesy of Little Kids Rock and IK MultiMedia. During the registration process, you’ll be asked for an address to receive the microphone(s).

This course is designed for grade 6 through grade 12 music teachers. This course consists of five (5) 90-minute Zoom sessions occurring on Mondays from 3:30 - 5:00 P.M. October 12 through November 16, 2020. You only need to register once.
