The LACOE Induction Program is a state-approved 2042 Induction Program for eligible teachers holding Preliminary Multiple and Single Subject Credentials who need to complete teacher induction for their Professional Clear Credential. The requirements include:
- Regularly scheduled meetings with an assigned support provider/mentor
- Active participation in professional learning communities
- Professional development related to classroom management, English Learners and Special Populations
- Submission of "Evidence of Teacher Practice" in the form of formative assessment tools and written reflections in a professional portfolio upon completion of the program.
Prospective candidates must attend an information meeting, an advisement meeting, and pay a $250 nonrefundable advisement fee. Currently, the cost for teachers who are employees of LACOE's original partnering districts is $2000 per year, for the two-year program.
The cost for teachers who are not employees of LACOE’s original partnering districts is $4000 per year, for the two-year program.
University course credit may be purchased upon successful completion program requirements.
