Expulsion Appeal Process

An expulsion is an action to remove a child from school and to limit the kinds of schools the child may attend. The County Board of Education has designated the Child Welfare and Attendance Unit to process Expulsion Appeals. An appeal must be filed within 30 calendar days. The information on this page will guide you through the appeal process and identify the persons to whom you may direct your questions.

If you have any questions or need further assistance preparing the appeal, please call Child Welfare and Attendance at (562) 922-6897.
