A Commitment To Los Angeles County Schools


Federal E-rate funding includes the CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act) requirement to educate students on appropriate online behavior.

Digital Citizenship curriculum includes four (4) main themes for teaching and learning:
  • Cyberbullying Awareness and Response
  • Digital Footprint
  • Protecting Online Privacy
  • Intellectual Property
  • Los Angeles County Office of Education Digital Citizenship Initiative is a commitment to support 21st Century teaching and learning with countywide implementation of cyber-security solutions that filter and block inappropriate and unwanted Internet content for CIPA compliance. As the latest technology tools and applications impact Los Angeles County schools and districts, continued E-rate funding will allow for improvements in technology infrastructure with increased bandwidth, Internet access and appropriate online security.
