About

Under the direction of the county superintendents, the Juvenile Court, Community, and Alternative Schools’ is dedicated to preparing students who are enrolled in county alternative education programs to become self-sufficient adults who lead healthy lifestyles, and are competent, caring, and academically prepared for their futures.

Its mission is to support student success by creating a collegial network of county office administrators who: research and share best practices regarding new and innovative program options for at-promise students; provide training and assistance to new administrators; encourage legislation that advocates for the learning needs of all students; and give input and guidance to the Superintendents relative to the diverse needs of our student population.

More About JCCASAC

Please see the attached 'Call for Papers' for the JCCASAC Spring 2021 Journal. Each year, JCCASAC produces a journal of scholarly research articles and program success stories related to Court and Community schools. Most articles are written by our colleagues and peers. The Journal is a great way to share the outstanding programs and services provided by County Offices of Education for students in alternative education programs. Article guidelines are provided, but if you need a hand with editing, we can help. We can work with you and your students to get your article ready for print. The deadline for submissions is February 24, 2021. Please forward this to anyone you feel may be interested. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at jrice@santacruzcoe.org
