AI 101:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has existed since the 1950s and has undergone continuous advancements. This introductory AI course offers insights into the historical developments of AI, practical experience with generative AI tools like chat bots and art generators, and an understanding of potential advantages and disadvantages associated with AI.

Academic Integrity and AI:
In this session, participants will explore the ethical implications of incorporating AI into education. We'll discuss challenges such as detecting AI-assisted plagiarism and ensuring equal access to AI resources, all while maintaining a focus on academic honesty.

Talking with AI: Prompt Engineering in Education:
Learn how to create effective prompts that guide AI models to give precise and useful responses. Get hands-on knowledge on prompt design, fine-tuning parameters, and optimization strategies to optimize the use of AI tools in the classroom, enhancing student engagement and personalizing the learning experience.

AI for Teaching and Learning: 
This one-hour session is designed to empower educational professionals and their students with knowledge and understanding of artificial intelligence. The course aims to demystify AI, highlighting its role in enhancing teaching methods and shaping student learning experiences. With a focus on academic integrity, we'll cover the ethical uses of AI in education and ways to foster a responsible AI-enabled learning environment.

Digital Citizenship Conference

LACOE, in partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District's Instructional Technology Initiative and the Association of California School Administrators Region 16, hosted the 4th Annual Digital Citizenship Conference (DigCitCon) on October 21, 2023.
