Exciting Partnership Leads to Teen Tech Center Grand Opening

Tue Apr 30 10:37:00 PDT 2024

In partnership with our Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation (GLAEF) and the Best Buy Foundation, Teen Tech Centers are opening across Los Angeles County.

Students, community members and partners got to experience the future at the grand opening of the new Best Buy Teen Tech Center at North Valley Caring Services (NVCS), presented through an amazing partnership between our Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation and the Best Buy Foundation. This Tech Center is a result of a public-private partnership and is the first in a constellation of new Teen Tech Centers opening across Los Angeles County.

These spaces are dedicated to bridging the digital divide and empowering teens with the tools they need to succeed in the digital age. They also pave the way for students from underserved neighborhoods to access careers in the creative economy and entertainment industry.

At the NVCS Tech Center, teens have access to cutting-edge technology, resources and training to unleash their creativity and innovation. They'll find mentors and peers who inspire them to explore new passions and possibilities, along with technical training and college guidance support to help pave the way for their futures. The Tech Center boasts a range of exciting features, including computers, screen printers, a podcasting studio, a photography station and much more. The grand opening celebration which happened on April 25, 2024, included delicious food, a live DJ, student-led tours and warm welcomes from councilwomen Monica Rodriguez and Imelda Padilla.

We are thrilled to be part of this partnership and look forward to seeing the amazing creations and innovations that will come out of the NVCS Teen Tech Center!
