Math Field Day is an enrichment experience to promote mathematical problem solving, reasoning and teamwork for all students in upper elementary, middle and high school levels.

ABOUT THE EVENT
Upper Elementary, Middle and High School students in the Los Angeles County are invited to bring teams of four students per grade level (grades 4 - 11) to demonstrate their knowledge and love for mathematics. Competition will be among the grade level teams. Prizes and trophies are awarded to the winning teams.
The competition itself consists of two 40 minute rounds. The Conceptual Understanding Round (1 Performance Task with multiple parts) and the Sense Making (Problem-Solving) Round (1 Performance Task with multiple parts).
The day continues with our MATHCHELLA and STEM Fair events where students and faculty are allowed to participate. Many wonderful mathematics puzzles, games and activities. Additionally, students are invited to visit our many different booths that showcase mathematics in the real world and how it pertains to their roles.

Parent as Partners session to ignite parent engagement and advocacy in mathematics.
LA County Mathematics Scholarship for seniors due March 31, 2025 by 5:00 pm. LINK Seniors selected are invited to the closing ceremony of Math Field Day to receive their award.
All educators and families are encouraged to participate in any one of our roles during the day. Whether you are a proctor, scorer or volunteer WE WOULD LOVE AND ARE IN NEED OF YOUR PARTICIPATION in supporting your students love for mathematics flourish and grow.
