Math Field Day is an enrichment experience to promote mathematical problem solving, reasoning and teamwork for all students in upper elementary, middle and high school levels.
🎉 Celebrating Our 2026 Math Field Day Champions
We are excited to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our participants at the 2026 Math Field Day! This year’s competitors demonstrated exceptional problem-solving, creativity, and mathematical thinking.
About Math Field Day!
Upper elementary, middle, and high school students across Los Angeles County are invited to participate in this exciting celebration of mathematics. Schools may bring teams of four students per grade level for grades 4–11 to showcase their mathematical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and love for mathematics learning. Teams will compete within their grade level for prizes, medals, and championship trophies.
The competition includes two engaging 40-minute rounds:
- Conceptual Understanding Round – Students work through a rich performance task with multiple parts that highlights reasoning, communication, and deep mathematical understanding.
- Sense-Making & Problem-Solving Round – Students collaborate on a multi-part performance task designed to promote critical thinking, perseverance, and creative problem-solving.
The excitement continues throughout the day with our MATHCHELLA and STEM Fair experiences! Students, educators, and families can explore hands-on mathematics games, puzzles, activities, and interactive booths that showcase how mathematics connects to real-world careers, industries, and everyday life.
