APHG Awards Eight Students with Scholarships During Annual Celebration

APHG's 13th Annual Celebration awards scholarships to HS students in virtual event, honoring Asian Pacific heritage and fostering education.

The Asian Pacific Heritage Group (APHG) held its 13th Annual Celebration last month and awarded eight high school students with scholarships. 

The virtual event celebrated Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and included keynote remarks from Dr. Yvonne Chan, Los Angeles County Board of Education Vice President and Chancee Martorell, Founder and Executive Director of the Thai Community Development Center. 

APHG announced its “Path to Success” scholarship recipients, honoring students who exceeded expectations by providing financial assistance to help them pursue college and career opportunities. 

Two students received $1,000 scholarship awards, while six received $600 awards. 

  • Kaitlyn Ruiz, Downey High School, $1,000 

  • Jessica Pasaribu, IPoly High School, $1,000 

  • Brian Baca, Downey High School, $600 

  • Denise Gwen Catbagan, IPoly High School, $600 

  • Kassi King, Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, $600 

  • Micah Rodriguez, Downey High School, $600 

  • Yammilet Perez, Downey High School, $600 

  • Scott Rodriguez, Gahr High School, $600
