Today around 1:30 p.m., eight dark, unmarked SUVs were seen in the parking lot of LACOE’s Education Center West. When approached by staff, the vehicles left without identifying themselves. We immediately alerted our staff and the Downey Unified School District. 

Unfortunately, there is misinformation that LACOE office parking lots are being used as an ICE staging area. 

To be clear: LACOE is not cooperating with ICE or any federal law enforcement. LACOE’s property is not being used for immigration enforcement.

We understand the fear this creates. Our schools and offices must remain safe and supportive for all.
