County Offices of Education play a vital role in partnering with school districts to analyze data, inform planning and ensure that educators have the tools needed to accelerate success for students.

The California Department of Education has released the 2025 California School Dashboard, offering a comprehensive look at school and district performance across multiple measures of student success. This year’s results show improvements statewide and in L.A. County, reflecting ongoing efforts to support student learning, engagement and readiness for the future.

Across California, student outcomes continue to trend in a positive direction with graduation rates up to 87.5%, college and career readiness climbing to 51.7% and chronic absenteeism dropping to 17.1%.

For the first time since the Dashboard was created, all statewide indicators are rated “yellow” or “green.” This milestone reflects increasing stability and growth in academic achievement, attendance and other key student outcome areas.

In Los Angeles County, graduation rates remain above state averages, and local districts continue to implement strategies that support student engagement, well-being and academic readiness. Targeted supports and county-wide collaboration are contributing to equitable outcomes for students and families. Schools and districts are benefiting from shared learning, aligned strategies and stronger systems of support.

“The California School Dashboard allows us to see where our students are thriving and where we must continue to focus our collective efforts,” said Dr. Debra Duardo, Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools. “We are proud of the progress our schools are making, and we remain committed to working hand-in-hand with districts, educators, families and communities to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.”

County Offices of Education, including Los Angeles County, play a vital role in partnering with school districts to analyze data, inform planning and ensure that educators have the tools needed to accelerate success for all students.

As schools continue to strengthen instruction, expand college-and-career opportunities, and address attendance challenges, the focus remains on ensuring every student is supported academically, socially and emotionally.
