The Los Angeles County Office of Education’s (LACOE) Wellbeing and Support Services Internship Program is a transformative opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in social work and school-based family counseling. The program places interns in schools across Los Angeles County, where they gain hands-on experience delivering mental health services and promoting emotional wellbeing. Interns engage in a multi-tiered system of support, from leading classroom wellness workshops and organizing parent education sessions to providing individual counseling and crisis response. Through comprehensive training, mentorship, and real-world practice, the WBSS Internship Program equips future mental health professionals with the skills and confidence to advocate for students, families, and school communities.
