LACOE's Pathways II Leaders Program witnessed 16 Pathfinders completing 8 months of learning and networking, fostering growth.

On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, LACOE’s Pathways II Building LACOE Leaders Program celebrated the completion of their 2022-2023 professional leadership program. Under the direction of Human Resource Services, a cohort of 16 Pathfinders, program participants, worked with each other, coaches and facilitators to develop leadership capacity and leverage professional networks. Pathfinders participated in a cohort of learning spanning eight months, including a final action research project on a topic of their choice. Cohort members were from diverse employee groups across the entire LACOE organization. One of the features of Pathways is the opportunity for leadership and learning across divisions promoting the interconnectivity of the office and the opportunity for employee advancement.

At the certification ceremony, the program Pathfinders, Coaches, Facilitators and cohort members shared highlights of their experience with the program.

“It was a great opportunity as a newer LACOE employee to meet colleagues, work on an independent project with coaches and mentors to improve the overall systems at LACOE for the benefits of the county and kiddos we serve,” said Nane Zadouri, Administrative Analyst, Grants Development Office, formerly Program Coordinator for the COVID-19 Testing Team.

“With the goal of LACOE growing LACOE, Pathways is a stepping stone towards even greater achievements and a reminder that the value of lifelong learning knows no bounds. Professional development is not a destination; it is an ongoing process that requires dedication and a commitment to personal and professional growth. It is a journey that empowers individuals to adapt, innovate, and excel in their chosen fields,” said Lauren Sheahan, Coordinator III Human Resource Services.

Pathways: Building LACOE Leaders is a program designed to provide employees with the opportunity to develop leadership aptitudes and enhance knowledge and skills for career development and promotional opportunities. At the end of the free program, cohort members have received content for developing leadership capacity and leveraging professional networks, including strategies and skills for potential career advancement.
