On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, LACOE hosted the 2024 Charter School Differentiated Assistance Symposium at Almansor Court in Alhambra. The Symposium served as a gathering for charter school administrators, educators, leaders and partners to engage in discussions about pathways of support. The event featured Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Debra Duardo, who delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of partnership and collaborative efforts to bring additional resources to best serve our schools.

One of the highlights of the Symposium was the keynote address by Dr. Stephanie Gregson, Deputy Executive Director of the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence. Dr. Gregson focused on the existing systems in place and emphasized the need for research and capacity building to effectively serve students. The Symposium, organized by LACOE's Center for District Capacity Building, also included breakout sessions covering topics such as Improvement Science, data analysis for improving student outcomes and resource allocation strategies.

Overall, the Charter Symposium provided a valuable platform the charter school community to exchange ideas, learn from experts and explore innovative approaches to enhancing educational support and outcomes for students.
