The deadline to apply for the 2024-25 school year for the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) is by January 12, 2024. LACHSA is a specialized, tuition-free public school open to aspiring young artists throughout Los Angeles County. Founded in 1985 under the direction of the LA County Office of Education, LACHSA is located on the campus of California State University, Los Angeles. Students are accepted through juried auditions or portfolio reviews into one of five departments: Cinematic Arts, Dance, Music, Theatre or Visual Arts.

“Their academic grades are just as important to their arts learning as anything else that they’re going to experience while learning here at LACHSA,” said Natasha Diamond-Walker, Chair of the Dance Department. “Academics, coupled with the arts, is really what’s going to give you a long-term plan and future to support your artist career.”
