Dr. Duardo Appointed to the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents Board

The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Debra Duardo has been appointed as the Region I Director for the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS). Dr. Duardo will represent the states of California, Hawaii and Alaska in this prestigious role.
Dr. Duardo succeeds LACOE Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Ruth Pérez, who held the Region I Director seat for six years. Dr. Pérez will now transition to the ALAS Executive Committee, serving as Secretary, further contributing her leadership and expertise to the organization's national agenda.
The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents is a premier national organization dedicated to the advancement of Latino educators and leaders in education. As Region I Director, Dr. Duardo will collaborate with other esteemed superintendents from across the nation, advocating for equity, excellence, and the continued development of Latino leadership in education.

Dr. Duardo will be officially sworn in at the ALAS annual conference, which will take place in October in Portland, Oregon.
