LACOE Celebrates Staff at 2025 Wellbeing Fest

LACOE staff came together for the 2025 Wellbeing Fest, a day dedicated to celebration, connection and community.

The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) hosted our third Wellbeing Fest for staff on April 25, 2025, at the LACOE offices in Downey. Almost 900 staff members attended this year’s event with a theme of Aloha, celebrating the spirit of unity, kindness and connection.

Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Debra Duardo opened the day by sharing the significance of the aloha spirit and its connection to LACOE’s ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of its employees. The festive atmosphere was set by our very own Kristine Ono aka DJ Puffs.

Many of LACOE’s internal units hosted interactive booths where staff could play games, win prizes, take photos and connect with colleagues from across the organization. The festivities continued with organization-wide games, including a lively "Name That Tune" competition, an animal therapy station, plenty of dancing and door prize giveaways which included gift cards and wellbeing gear.

Another special moment from the day was when Regal Rexnord Corporation, a global manufacturer of electric motors and power transmission components, presented a $5,000 donation to the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation during the Wellbeing Fest. The funds, raised by Regal Rexnord, will support families affected by recent wildfires through the L.A. County Education Wildfire Recovery Fund.

The event was a powerful reflection of LACOE’s "We Are LACOE" messaging, bringing employees together to celebrate, recharge and strengthen bonds across departments.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2025 Wellbeing Fest such a special day!
