This annual event is focused on welcoming students of all abilities in a safe space where they can feel empowered by the Arts!

In partnership with The Music Center and the Los Angeles Unified School District, we were thrilled to celebrate the 46th Annual Very Special Arts Festival—an inspiring event that honors the talents and creativity of students with all abilities. This year’s theme, Arts & Science Collide!, sparked incredible imagination as students explored the intersection of artistic expression and scientific curiosity.

Held on May 2, 2025, the festival featured vibrant student and professional performances, hands-on arts workshops and an uplifting student art exhibit centered around the theme. Students from districts across Los Angeles County gathered at The Music Center to sing, dance, perform and create art that celebrated both their individuality and the wonder of science.

Districts such as Culver City Unified School District, Hacienda La Puente Unified School District and more joined in the celebration, offering a fun-filled day of music, food, face painting, cultural performances and interactive artmaking. The energy was contagious as students took the main stage, bringing the crowd to life with their joyful performances.

Resident artists from The Music Center collaborated with classrooms in the weeks leading up to the event, including students from Pasadena, Duarte and Los Angeles Unified school districts.

The Very Special Arts Festival continues to hold a special place in the community—celebrating inclusion, diversity and the boundless creativity of every student who takes part.
