Education leaders from across Los Angeles County gathered at High Tech Los Angeles (HTLA) in Van Nuys on September 27, 2025, for the third annual A.I. Symposium. The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and its EdTech and Innovation team hosted the A.I. and Innovative EdTech Symposium, dedicating the day to exploring the future of learning through collaboration.
The atmosphere brimmed with collaboration as over 25 workshops sparked debate and ideas. Colleagues reconnected and forged partnerships. Educators, leaders and innovators from across the county came together to learn, share and imagine what's next for AI in education. The energy reflected a shared commitment to innovation, equity and shaping the future of teaching and learning.
While attendees enjoyed networking, they focused on practical content throughout the day. Facilitators designed sessions to move beyond hype and dive into practices already making a difference in classrooms. Educator Dr. Catlin Tucker delivered a keynote that anchored the day, challenging everyone to harness technology in service of student-centered pedagogy.
LACOE deliberately chose High Tech Los Angeles because the school's design and student-centered environment mirrored the symposium's themes of creativity and collaboration. Dr. Christopher Hoang, Assistant Director of Technology and Innovation at LACOE, explained how this choice reflected the event's design.
"Our goal for the symposium was to empower our educational leaders," said Dr. Hoang. "It's about ensuring technology serves pedagogy, not the other way around. Seeing so many professionals from across the county connect and share their expertise is the measure of success for us. We wanted to build a community of innovators, and today, that community is stronger than ever."
Thank you to all the leaders who attended and brought their energy to the day. The EdTech and Innovation team looks forward to continuing its support of this network as we move forward together.
