LACOE is proud to recognize Giovanni Boskovich of LACHSA as our 2026 Teacher of the Year, honoring his exceptional impact on students.
We’re proud to celebrate Mr. Giovanni Boskovich as LACOE’s 2026 Teacher of the Year, recognizing his invaluable impact on students and colleagues!
Boskovich has taught English at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) since 2012, working across all grade levels and spending much of his time with seniors in English 12 and A.P. Literature. Known for his structured, thoughtful classrooms, he believes students learn best when expectations are clear and they feel safe engaging deeply with challenging ideas. That approach has helped students take on complex literary texts and consistently succeed, with his A.P. Literature classes regularly earning some of the highest pass rates on campus.
A veteran educator with more than 16 years of experience, Boskovich is also a lifelong learner. He holds a master’s degree in literature and is a published poet whose work appears in national and international journals. In 2025, he released his debut poetry collection, The Tautology of Water. He brings that same curiosity and love of language into the classroom, showing students that learning extends far beyond graduation.
Beyond teaching, Boskovich has served as English Department Chair, mentored future educators, supported school governance and founded LACHSA’s Creative Writing Club, giving students a platform to publish and share their voices. He defines student success not by grades alone, but by engagement, curiosity and the ability to think independently.
Being named Teacher of the Year honors not only his instructional excellence, but the respect he has earned from colleagues who see his dedication every day. Congratulations!
