As outlined in the California State Plan for Career Technical Education, there are 11 key elements of high-quality CTE programs.
The Career Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study was developed to facilitate effective CTE program development by educational leaders. Each of the 11 elements is defined and expanded upon in the study (pages 9-74).
In an effort to build capacity for all districts offering CTE programs, LACOE recognizes districts that are excelling in one or more of the essential elements and allows for sharing of best practices. For each element below, expand the module to reveal district information. LACOE-CTE will continue to acknowledge quality CTE programs and encourages district representatives to learn about quality CTE programming through this resource.
