Health Outreach Program

LACOE is committed to increasing access to quality health care for low-income children and families in L.A. County through partnerships with state-certified provider agencies.

The Health Outreach Program (HOP) is funded by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's Children’s Health Outreach Initiatives (CHOI) and the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI).

All K-12 public schools and districts in the county may access health, vision and dental care, and enrollment services from HOP partner agencies. Eligible children, students and families are enrolled in Medi-Cal, Kaiser Permanente Child Health Program (KPCHP), Medi-Cal Access Program (MCAP), Covered California and other free/low cost or ability to pay health programs. HOP provides resources and linkages to community-based health care partners to assist with health care, health insurance enrollment, and other free or low-cost health coverage programs.
