The Accountability and Data Literacy Unit within the Division of Accountability Support and Monitoring (ASM) provides technical support and professional development regarding state assessment, state and federal accountability, data systems and the culture of data use. Our team hosts the Data, Assessment, and Accountability Network (DAAN) and the Los Angeles County CALPADS Network meetings, which are designed to build the capacity of educators responsible for assessment, accountability and data collection and reporting. These meetings provide LEA leaders with the latest details of state and federal accountability; the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and ELPAC; CALPADS data reporting; and more.
In addition to our network meetings, the unit provides professional development opportunities designed to build the capacity of LA County educators in the use of data to make systemic change and improve outcomes for students. Professional development opportunities are scheduled strategically throughout the year to support district administrators, site-level administrators, coaches, teachers and other key LEA data users.
