These sessions provided practical insights, shared experiences and actionable strategies that attendees could apply directly within their own environments.

The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE), in partnership with the Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation (GLAEF), successfully hosted the 2026 Cybersecurity and Infrastructure TechTalk, a full day event designed to support and strengthen the technological resilience of educational institutions across Los Angeles County.

The event welcomed a broad audience of district, charter, county office and community college technology leaders, each playing a vital role in supporting students, teachers and educational facilities. These professionals ensure reliable systems, safeguard sensitive data and maintain the infrastructure that underpins learning and operations throughout the county.

A Focus on Resilience and Preparedness

The day began with an opening session centered on resilience, setting the tone for a program dedicated to helping educational agencies anticipate, withstand and recover from cybersecurity threats. Attendees also received an important briefing from the CISA School Safety Task Force Team, offering a federal perspective on school safety resources and emerging risks.

A keynote address by the FBI followed, emphasizing the growing need for educational organizations to adopt resilience by design approaches, strategies that prepare systems to respond effectively to evolving cyber threats. This keynote helped guide the conversations and learning that shaped the remainder of the day.

Throughout the day, participants joined a series of breakout sessions focused on timely, real world challenges in IT resilience, security and operations. These sessions delivered practical, actionable insights that attendees can bring back to their organizations to strengthen infrastructure and improve operational readiness.

Strengthening the Future of Educational Technology

This year’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure TechTalk highlighted a shared mission across Los Angeles County: to equip every educational agency with the knowledge, tools, and partnerships necessary to create secure, resilient and adaptable tech ecosystems for students and staff.
