The Los Angeles County Office of Education’s Chief Technology Officer, Jose Gonzalez, has been named as this year’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers in Government Technology magazine. Now in its 24th year, this prestigious annual list honors innovators, collaborators and change-makers who are advancing state and local government through the strategic use of technology.

Featured in Government Technology’s May issue, the 2025 honorees include chief information officers, government agency leaders and forward-thinking executives from the nonprofit and education sectors. Each of them is recognized for their efforts to modernize operations, improve services and build more resilient and responsive public institutions.

Since joining LACOE in 2021, Gonzalez has fostered collaboration among district tech teams, developed AI usage guidelines for schools and organized quarterly "tech talks" that bring together IT staff and national experts. His efforts in streamlining procurement processes and providing critical technology support during emergencies, such as the January wildfires, have significantly enhanced educational resilience and innovation in the region.

“I’m honored to be recognized alongside such a visionary group of leaders,” said Gonzalez. “This award reflects the collective commitment of our LACOE technology team and our district partners to reimagine how technology can empower educators and support students. I’m proud to be part of that mission.”
