LACOE’s College and Career Readiness (CCR)/Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Unit provides customized support and resources to help educators, schools and districts prepare students for success in their college and career pathways.
The CCR/AVID Unit provides customized support, professional development, technical assistance, and coaching for teachers, counselors, Teachers On Special Assignment (TOSAs), and administrators at schools and districts. CCR/AVID is a resource for educators throughout Los Angeles County to address and integrate College and Career Readiness expectations and skills for all students and support the implementation of the AVID College Readiness System (ACRS).

L.A. County High School Receives Prestigious National Award, Only School in the State
Dominguez High School Receives ACAC School of Excellence Award
The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and the College and Career Readiness/AVID Unit announce a historic first for Los Angeles County; Dominguez High School was awarded California’s 2025 American College Application Campaign (ACAC) School of Excellence. This Compton Unified School District high school is the first school in L.A. County to earn this national honor and the only school in the State to receive this award for the 2024-25 school year. The award was presented on May 9, 2025, during the school’s Senior Signing Day.
