LACOE’s Multilingual Academic Support (MAS) Unit supports current and aspiring bilingual educators through professional learning, resources and collaborative networks.

The LACOE Multilingual Academic Support (MAS) Unit is proud to serve as a lead agency for California’s Bilingual Teacher Professional Development Program (BTPDP), a statewide initiative designed to expand and strengthen the bilingual educator workforce. Through the Bilingual Teacher Pathways Project, LACOE collaborates with district and LEA partners, county offices of education, and higher education partners to support current and aspiring bilingual educators.

The project provides professional learning, bilingual authorization support and collaborative networks that help educators develop the knowledge and skills needed to support high-quality bilingual and dual language programs for multilingual learners.

Our Canvas platform serves as the central hub for participants across the region, providing access to program information, learning opportunities, resources, important documents and updates.
