Multilingual Learner Programs and Compliance

Multilingual Learner Programs ensure multilingual learners receive equitable access to grade-level learning while developing English proficiency. Through research-based instruction, including both designated and integrated English Language Development (ELD), students receive the language support they need from appropriately credentialed educators.

California's English Learner Roadmap and ELD Standards guide high-quality, inclusive, and culturally responsive programs. State and Federal laws, accountability systems, Title III funding, and Federal Program Monitoring (FPM) work together to ensure schools provide effective programs, meet legal requirements, and support the success of multilingual learners and their families.

Family Engagement

LCAP priority 3 asks LEAs to address and promote parental involvement and family engagement in programs for unduplicated students and students with exceptional needs.
