Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Debra Duardo has been selected as the Peace Over Violence (POV) 2023 Education Humanitarian Award honoree. POV is a social service agency dedicated to the elimination of sexual and domestic violence and all forms of interpersonal violence.

Dr. Duardo is a proud former POV staff member and longtime partner of the organization and she is being celebrated for prioritizing access to education for all children especially the marginalized and underserved. She recently partnered with POV Executive Director, Patti Giggans to celebrate Denim Day and raise awareness, provide resources and amplify the voices of those who need to be heard.

She will be recognized at the Evening Over Violence (EOV) ceremony on October 26, 2023.
