LACOE serves as the point of contact for charter school petitioners, parents, school districts and other stakeholders.

Overview

LACOE accepts charter petitions and revocation appeals on behalf of the Los Angeles County Board of Education and is responsible for facilitating the petition review and appeal process. The Charter School Office (CSO) also provides general information and technical assistance to both county and district authorized charters.

For Students and Families

Questions and concerns regarding charter schools authorized by the County Board may be directed to the Charter School Office by telephone or email. We will help you identify the authorizing entity if it is not the County Board.

For Petitioners

The Charter School Office accepts petitions and appeals on behalf of the Los Angeles County Board of Education and facilitates the petition review and appeal process.

The Los Angeles County Charter Special Education Local Plan Area is one of four such entities in California dedicated to serving students with disabilities.

DAAN Network

The Data, Assessment, & Accountability Network (DAAN) is a level-alike network for administrators who have responsibilities related to maintaining their LEA's data and accountability, and is open to charter schools.
